Rockhound Spots in Whatcom & Skagit County

Located in Ferndale, WA this beach has interesting pebbles, magnesite, and rocks for tumbling.

From Locust Road, an existing trail provides public access to over 200 acres of public beach and tidelands on northeast Bellingham Bay. 

Located east of Bellingham, WA off Mt. Baker Hwy 542. There is a narrow one-lane bridge next to a parking lot. Interesting river rocks, Olivine aka Dunite can be found here.

East of Sedro Woolley, WA off highway 20 in Concrete, WA. Blue agates, red & green jasper, quartz, and river style rocks to be found.

Located in South Bellingham, also known as Fairhaven, at the end of Harris Ave. near the ferry terminal. Beach rocks (salt water.)

Great beaches for locating agates, beach pebbles, and various other assorted treasures.

Sandy, pebble-covered beach with a small parking area. You can never be too sure what you'll find at this location. 

Hard rock mining for Amethyst, geodes, etc.
